Crizal
lenses are created with a state-of-the-art,
8-step manufacturing process that fuses
2-sided scratch resistance with anti-reflective
properties and hydrophobic technology
into the lens itself for unparalleled
durability and performance.
Step 1: Automated lens cleaning
Ultrasonic cleaning ensures excellent
bonding between lens and anti-scratch
elements, and prevents cracking.

| |
Step
2: Two-sided scratch resistance
Glass-like silica particles ensure lens
hardness. Polymer matrix ensures lens flexibility.
| |
| |
Step
3: Hi-energy surface control
High-energy particles bombard lens in vacuum
chamber, ensuring a proper bond between
anti-reflective and scratch-resistant technologies.
| |
| |
Step
4: Anti-particulate layer
This step ensures that dirt, dust, and even
oil are not attracted to the lens after
wiping.
It actually causes the lens to repel these
particles.

| |
| |
Step
5: Anti-reflective technology
Diamond-like zirconium oxide on both sides
of the lens maximizes light transmission
with increased toughness while reducing
unwanted reflections.
| |
| |
Step
6: Hydrophobic properties
A hydrophobic process reduces adhesion of
grease and water stains, while vacuum chamber
application ensures adhesion and dual-sided
ease of cleaning.
| |
| |
Step
7: Systematic quality control
Every product is batch tested for scratch
resistance, adhesion integration, and clarity.
Every lens meets rigorous Essilor quality
standards.
